Planck has started its Second All Sky Survey

2010-Mar-02, 11:20

On 14 February 2010, Planck has started its Second All Sky Survey after successfully concluding its First Survey. More than 95% of the sky has been observed already, and a 100% sky coverage will be achieved by mid-June. Some Planck pointing data are already available for external observers. An animation of the Planck sky coverage based on LTPPL data, with a NASA/WMAP image as a background, has been produced by Chris North, Cardiff University, and it is available on a video sharing website.
